Students use tactile learning to mold and create examples of landforms. They created mountains, lakes, plains, rivers, volcanoes, valleys, and waterfalls using modeling clay and their knowledge of the Earth's natural creations.

Students explore and create different science and mathematical concepts in STEM rotation centers. Third graders have been learning about weight in pounds, ounces, and grams. They are learning how to identify rocks and minerals and the properties of each. They also build and create houses, bridges, and modes of transportation by using engineering skills.
Can Do Day at the MACC was filled with art, drama, and dance! Students incorporated the Physical Science standard of "Building Bridges" to create visual displays using oil pastels, movement, and acting.
Third graders have been learning about simple machines. They designed and developed their own levers to use as a type of catapult to transfer items from one area to the next. They've become quite the engineers!Students have developed a love of literature and non fiction texts! They have become independent readers and enjoy engaging a variety of different texts. Our weekly visits to the library are the best place to get comfortable with a good book!
We finally made it out to a fabulous day at sea! The students enjoyed an educational presentation on whale habitat, diet, and anatomy. Then we took off on a cruising adventure where we witnessed many beautiful whales, and babies! Mahalo to our amazing parent chaperones who kept our keiki safe!
Students partner read and discuss expository texts. They use their knowledge of nonfiction text features to navigate through the text, while focusing on new vocabulary and understanding key historical concepts.
Students are learning how to find equivalent fractions, identify fractions on a number line, and how to compare fractions using student made manipulatives and white boards. They share their findings and discoveries with one another in partners and group work.
A4 got a special treat before our big brunch! A special visitor arrived and had students engage in a reading & categorizing activity in the form of Bingo!!
These keiki know their veggies! Students explore the garden in search of vegetables, flowers, and decomposers in a garden scavenger hunt .
